I am Tobias Wrigstad, full professor in Computing Science at the Department of Information Technology at Uppsala University.
Though I am mainly a scientist, I am also the Head of Education which means that I run the administrative unit that manages undergraduate education at the department.
You will find my office, and those of my closest colleagues and students, on Floor 5 of House 10 of the Ångström Laboratory in Uppsala. Look for the room which displays this picture:
However, I tend to run around a lot, so booking a time is encouraged! When I am not at the department, I am often visiting the GC team at Oracle in Stockholm.
I am interested in advising thesis students at Uppsala University. If you want to see what recent students have been doing, you can take a look here.
I am also interested in PhD students that have a strong interest in design and implementation of programming languages and theory of programming languages.
In either case, if you are interested in working with me, you should poke around and look at my research projects and in particular some of my recent publications to see what kind of work I do.
BTW, if you feel tempted to use AI to get an overview of my work, be cautioned: this is an unnamed AI’s attempt at explaining our work on Data-Race Free Python…
In some respect, the image captures things perfectly: the Python has two tails and some other inexplicable things going on, and the horse’s fourth leg seems to have been replaced by more snake. This screams torn value or frankenvalue.
